Free file review on every order

Every order placed with Best Quality Printing is opened and checked by a person before it reaches a press. We look for low-resolution images, missing bleed, RGB colour, hairline strokes and fonts that never embedded. If anything is wrong, we email you before charging the press. There is no charge for this.

Most printing complaints are not really printing complaints. Colours come back wrong, type is cut off at the edge, photos look soft — and in almost every case the file was already wrong before it was uploaded. An automated pipeline prints it anyway. We do not.

What we check

Low-resolution images
Artwork that looks sharp on a monitor is often well under the 300 DPI a press needs at final printed size. On paper it reads soft, smudged or pixelated — and it cannot be fixed after the run.
Missing bleed
A press cuts a stack of sheets at once and the blade can drift by a hairline. Without artwork extending past the trim line, that drift leaves a white sliver along the edge of your piece.
RGB instead of CMYK
Monitors build colour from light, presses build it from ink. A file left in RGB gets converted on the way to the press, which is how a burgundy logo arrives brown and a bright blue arrives dull.
Hairline strokes
Rules and outlines below a certain weight are thinner than the press can reliably hold. They break up, print inconsistently across the sheet, or disappear entirely.
Fonts that did not embed
If your type is still live and we do not have your exact font, it reflows — sometimes silently. Your carefully set headline comes back in a substitute typeface at the wrong width.

What happens if we find something

We email you before the job goes to press and before your card is charged for the run. You fix the file and resupply it, and we carry on. The point is that the first thing you pay for is a job that will actually come back right — not a reprint conversation afterwards.

What you can upload

PDF, AI, PSD, JPG, PNG and TIFF, up to 50 MB per file. Upload your front artwork, your back artwork, and a separate Spot UV mask if the product you picked uses one. If you would rather get the file right before you upload it, our print file checklist covers bleed, trim and safe area in detail.

Frequently asked questions

Do you check my file before printing?
Yes, on every order, at no extra cost. A member of our team opens your artwork and checks it for the problems that ruin print runs before the job reaches a press. You do not have to request it and there is no separate proofing fee.
What do you check for?
Five things that cause most reprints: low-resolution images, missing bleed, artwork built in RGB instead of CMYK, hairline strokes too thin to hold ink, and fonts that were never embedded. Each one looks fine on screen and fails on press.
What happens if you find a problem with my file?
We email you before charging the press. You get to fix the file and resupply it, so the first thing you pay for is a job that will actually print correctly. Nothing is run and billed on a file we know is wrong.
What file formats can I upload?
PDF, AI, PSD, JPG, PNG and TIFF, up to 50 MB per file. You upload your front artwork, your back artwork, and a separate Spot UV mask if the product you have chosen uses one.
Does the file check slow my order down?
Not when the file is correct. Review happens as part of normal production and most orders ship in 2 to 5 business days. The only delay is when we find a problem, and that is a delay that replaces a reprint.
Is there a charge for file review or proofing?
No. Prepress review is included on every order at no cost. It is part of how we work rather than an upsell, because catching a bad file before the press is cheaper for both of us than reprinting afterwards.
